Received presentations on the proposed 2025 budgets for the Office of Community Safety, Public Works and Emergency Management.

Received and filed the Capital Budget presentation as part of the 2024 City Budget presentations.

Approved amendments to the zoning code regarding cannabis businesses.

Received presentations from Neighborhood and Community Relations, Arts and Cultural Affairs and the Intergovernmental Relations departments.

In a 4-6 vote, approved a maximum property tax levy increase of 8.3%.

Received budget presentations from Civil Rights and Communications departments.

Received presentations on the 2025 city budget & the budget for following measures under the MDHR & U.S. Justice Dept. consent decrees.

Approved pay raise for the county attorney and sheriff. Forwarded to full board meeting a proposal for commissioner pay raises. Received presentation on the 2025 budget and levy.

Approved a new community center in the Bryant/Central neighborhoods and a recuperative care facility & emergency shelter in Stevens Square. Also approved a zoning code amendment meant to make it easier to convert non-residential buildings to residential.

Approved the ordinance related to mandatory disclosure of renters rights information, as amended. Received the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority’s second-quarter update.

Withdrew proposals to increase the salaries for countywide elected officials. Approved new county grant programs for reducing waste. Approved an agreement with the Native American Community Development Institute to run a community garden program.

Approved salary increases for countywide officials, including the sheriff, county attorney and commissioners.

Approved public land sale for a south Minneapolis lot, for which the city has received proposals for apartment buildings

Meeting canceled due to lack of quorum. A presentation from the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority about their plan for spending levy funds has been rescheduled for the Aug. 21 meeting.

Postponed vote on ordinance amendment requiring landlords to disclose more information about property violations and issues. Received presentation on how other cities support safe outdoor spaces for unhoused individuals.

Postponed vote on proposed emergency shelter on West Lake Street. Approved variances for a medical & dental clinic in Seward run by the Indian Health Board. Approved renaming a stretch of North Russel Avenue after Bernadette Anderson.

Postponed a vote on allowing a North Loop venue to add a dance floor. Forwarded without recommendation an appeal from East Harriet homeowners to allow them to build a garage about one foot taller than the maximum. Added conditions to permit for Minnehaha Academy to add lighting.

Approved granting $50,000 to the City of Minneapolis to develop a tree protection ordinance. Approved selling $200 million in general obligations bonds for capital improvement programs.

Authorized agreements with the MN Dept. of Human Services to allocate funding toward several affordable housing projects from the American Indian Community Development Corporation, Salvation Army, Catholic Endeavors, and Avivo, among others.

Approved an agreement between the city & 15 partners that allocates federal funding for free energy analysis for small businesses and incentives for adopting energy efficiency projects. Received and filed Special Service District 2023 annual reports.

Authorized final design engineering for the reconstruction of Cedar Ave, which will start in 2026. The HRA authorized selling the Aqua City Motel site to Trellis for affordable housing & selling Stevens Square Residence to American Indian Community Development Corp.

Approved 2025-26 budget recommendations for the legislative department, but postponed a vote on recommendations on the Mayor's proposed budget for the whole city.

Instructed the City Auditor’s Office to conduct an analysis of converting commercial buildings to residential. Received presentations on labor standards and housing programs. Forwarded without recommendation a non-conforming use request for a proposed auto repair shop on Lyndale.

Approved reallocating $513,800 to homeless prevention. Appointed Hennepin Health Interim CEO Michael Herzing as permanent CEO. RRA directed staff to follow up with city & park board about elevating Midtown Greenway trail's designation to a metropolitan park regional trail.
