Your Chosen Polling Location

On election day, Documenters will interview neighbors at the polling location of their choice as a part of Mirror Indy’s live election coverage.

Your assignment will last two hours and be due an hour after you leave the polling location. Assignments will not be accepted after 7 p.m. Submissions are accepted via the assignment page at Documenters.org, email, or text. This is a quick turnaround, and we appreciate your willingness to report on election day. Live-tweeting roles have the same requirements.

The assignment must include

  • Start and end time
  • Polling Location address
  • Interviews from at least three voters including:
  • First and last name
  • Why did you come to vote?
  • Which ballot are you voting on? Or What is your party affiliation?
  • Which neighborhood are you from?

Please include:

  • Pictures of the voters with their first and last names
  • Interview audio
  • One to two pages of single-spaced timestamps for notes roles
  • Follow-up questions and observations

Documenters may also include:

  • Photos of the polling location’s exterior
  • Video
  • Personal social media content
