Regular Meeting

The Commission shall act in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and the City Council on matters of: 1) encouraging and promoting unity,· purpose and understanding among the African-American people of the greater Tulsa area; 2) encouraging and promoting cooperation between the African-American people of the greater Tulsa area and the local, state and federal governments for the general benefit and welfare of African-American people residing in or visiting the City and County of Tulsa; 3) identifying means to assist the African-American residents of the City and County of Tulsa to develop their talents and abilities without limitations; 4) assisting the African-American community to benefit from the fullest realization of its human resources; 5) ensuring a better understanding of the African-American people and the African-American community; 6) aiding the preservation of the cultures of the African-American people; 7) developing programs and initiatives
