• The Administration, Operations and Budget Committee authorized agreements worth $11.4 million with multiple providers for employment services.
• The Health & Human Services Committee accepted $4.3 million in grant funds from the MN Housing Finance Agency for homeless prevention.
  • This money will fund three FTEs in the county, as well as support (through grants) several organizations that work with people experiencing homelessness.
• The Intergovernmental Relations Committee received an end-of-session legislative update from the IGR team with several notables:
  • Passage of the Packaging Waste and Cost Reduction Act, making Minnesota the fifth state in the country
  • Passage of the African American Family Preservation Act, with Hennepin and Ramsey Counties as the pilot project.
  • Passage of $10 million for the Blue Line Extension anti-displacement community prosperity program and funding to build the arterial BRT network.
  • Passage of more than $100 million in funding for affordable housing.
