Hennepin County Board and Regional Railroad Authority
Hennepin County Board of CommissionersLocation unavailable
- In a 6-0 vote, the board removed from the agenda the proposed salary increases for the county attorney, sheriff and board. With those items withdrawn, other commissioners could still bring forward proposals that might be more “palatable,” said Chair Irene Fernando, who authored the proposals. She cited “strong opposition” from residents in her motion to remove the items. The week before, the Administration, Operations, and Budget Committee voted 4-2 to approve a 49% increase on board commissioner compensation.
- Approved two new county grant programs: one for supporting zero waste efforts, and another for food recovery. The total amount of funding for these grants is $525,000.
- Approved an agreement with the Native American Community Development Institute to provide community garden development and community engagement services along the East 29th St corridor.
