Approved a resolution authorizing the issuance of a $21 million tax-exempt multifamily revenue bond for the 550 West Lake Street affordable housing project, a new construction proposed by Lupe Development Partners.
Approved the transfer of property management of the Cowles Center facility (516 Hennepin Ave) to the city, as Artspace has announced plans to close at the end of March. The city took ownership of the theater in 2009 in order to receive a grant to renovate the theater, and leased it to Artspace. Next, the city will issue an RFP for a new operator and expects the facility to be closed for 1-2 years.
